Naked (The Naked, Naked Lunch) – Drummer, 1990-1999

I was the drummer for Naked, a pioneering indie-rock band based in Copenhagen that was active throughout the 1990s. Naked was one of the first bands to release an album on the Danish label Crunchy Frog, playing a significant role in shaping the Danish indie scene. Our music was heavily influenced by the experimental and noisy sounds of contemporary bands such as Pixies, Sonic Youth, and My Bloody Valentine.

During my time with Naked, we released several albums, including All The Good Things Are Gone (1994) and Pass Out (1996), and contributed to compilations such as the Roky Erickson tribute album Children of the Night. Naked performed extensively across Denmark and northern Europe, including a mini-tour with the band Come, where I played shows in Sweden, Norway, and Germany. We also supported acts like Mercury Rev and Smog, earning a reputation for bringing an innovative and energetic sound to the Copenhagen underground scene.

As a drummer, I played a central role in developing the rhythmic backbone of the band’s sound, which evolved from distortion-heavy indie-rock to a more introspective, yet still dissonant style. Naked’s work received critical acclaim, and our collaborations with producers like Chris Brokaw (Come, Codeine) further elevated the band’s profile.

Being part of Naked allowed me to contribute to a groundbreaking era in Danish music, and my experiences with the band continue to influence my approach to creative and professional endeavors.
